Before Getting Back to the House...

Just before I get back to the house...here is what the two fur devils look like now:

They have sweet faces, but they have the ability to eat pretty much anything. Have you ever seen the website "S*&% my kids ruined?" (If no, you really should, it's pretty funny).

I'm thinking of starting the same site for dogs, a la exhibits A through C below:

Exhibit A:

My glasses. Not my fault. These were on the coffee table and one day Max just decided to eat whatever looked inedible. He's lucky my vision insurance kicked in just a month after he ate these, so I can get a new pair and have the cost covered.

Exhibit B:

My sunglasses. Ok, so this one was my fault. Clearly the lesson is that Max likes glasses, and is now willing to eat anything within reach.

Exhibit C:

The couch. Nice, they seriously ate the couch. The only upside is that we didn't really like this tiny hobbit couch anyways (it was from the days when we lived in a studio). They managed to chew through both of the corners...so it's now in pieces in the garage. Maybe we'll be able to salvage the remants for some other projects.

This list could actually continue...for a while...but I think the teething is over, so hopefully everything won't be ruined forever.

Now back to how we've made the house look better.....

Excuses, Excuses

So...almost 6 months have gone by since my last post, I'm the worst blogger ever.

After my mother was here for a week in November helping us with the Kitchen/Dining Room/Living room makeover, we slowed down on the pace a little bit. Also, I use the word "help" fairly loosely, it was less vacation, more 24/7 manual labour (thanks mom!).

But, back to the excuses for lack of posts...there have been two main reasons:

Max (in white) and Lula (in brown)

These two furry goats joined the van der Yang household at Christmas and they've messed up the house ever since (but they're cute, so I forgive them).

More house updates to follow (and not in 6 months...I promise)!
